Rich was born on July 27, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, to Michael F. and Elizabeth Mary (nee Koval) Krisik. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service, he pursued a career as a proud IUEC, Local Union #2 Elevator Mechanic with over 35 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Bernadette (his wife of 47 years), who passed away in 2011. Also preceded in death by his brother, Michael, who passed away in 2022. He is survived by his children, Michelle, Rick, and Christopher; his grandchildren, Mikaela, Justin, and Nicholas; his baby brother Ronnie; and a circle of family who loved him dearly and shared in his laughter throughout the years. “Over and out” was his signature sign-off, which captured his charm and sense of humor. He was deeply devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren, who were the center of his world. He was outgoing, endlessly playful, and genuine. He loved making people laugh. Generous by nature, he was known as the family medic, always ready with advice, a remedy, or a calm word of guidance. Beyond his own family, he took many neighborhood kids under his wing, offering mentorship and a steady presence that left a lasting impact. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and giving back. He was the real deal for sure. In lieu of flowers memorials to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, appreciated.
