Patricia "Patty" Diane Smiley, nee Amis, 38, passed away on July 27th, 2024.

Patty was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio before attending school in Bloomington, Indiana and finally settling in Chicago, Illinois where she married Ashton Smiley and with him brought into this world two beautiful daughters, Blake and Naomi. Patty’s journey in this life was defined not so much by events and facts but rather the vibrant trail of joy, love, compassion and hope that she inspired in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Patty emanated thoughtfulness, kindness and beauty with a radiance so rarely seen. She was a loving mother, a devoted daughter, a cherished wife, a caring sister, and a loyal friend to so many people who will miss her so deeply and profoundly. Her laugh was simply infectious and could move mountains, her smile had the power to make you melt. Patty's compassion and her immense capacity to love were truly unmatched and unwavering. She was beautiful both inside and out, always striving to make those around her feel loved, appreciated, and valued. She had a servant's heart and cared deeply for her beloved daughters, Blake and Naomi, always putting their needs and happiness above her own. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to her family were evident in everything she did. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, and so many people who loved her and will miss her dearly every single day. We all pray that she finds eternal peace and comfort, knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Patty is survived by her husband Ashton; daughters Blake and Naomi; father James and mother Susan; brothers Matthew (Rattiya) and Samuel (Hannah); parents-in-law Thomas and Sandra; and siblings- in-law Tom Jr. (Theresa), Jimmy (Danielle), and Sydney.
