James M. Twohig

James Michael Twohig, age 65 of Chicago, IL, passed away on June 10, 2022.

Jim was born October 29th, 1956, the second son of the late Mary Therese (Nevins) Twohig and the late William Richard Twohig, Sr. Jim graduated from St. Rita High School in 1974, and completed a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree in Paralegal Studies in 2016 from Roosevelt University. 

Jim is survived by his devoted brother Tom Twohig of Romeoville, sister-in-law Bonnie Twohig of Plainfield, and beloved niece Katharine Mudd (Jennifer Fife). Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one brother: William Twohig, Jr.; four uncles: Br. Herbert Lewis FSC (Michael J. Twohig, Jr.); Robert Twohig; Fr. Eugene Nevins, SJ; and John “Jack” Mulvihill,  and three aunts: Alice Nevins, Mary Frances Twohig, and Patricia Nevins Mulvihill.

Though he enjoyed the occasional hunting trip, Jim’s primary interest was genealogy. He traced the Twohig family’s history, knew all the family stories, and could identify any family member in a photograph, no matter how long ago the picture was taken.

The wake will be held on Wednesday, June 15, from 3:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Beverly Ridge Funeral Home, 10415 S Kedzie, Chicago. Funeral services Thursday, 9:15 AM from Beverly Ridge, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 10235 S Fairfield Ave, Chicago. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
