Edward L. Dovgin, age 96, Veteran, US Army, Korea.  Beloved husband of the late Barbara, nee Bain, both from the Beverly Area.  Loving father of John (Mary), James, and Jennifer (Ken) Barker.  Proud grandfather known as “Papa” to Edward and Tricia Barker. Son of the late Anthony and Rose Dovgin.  A loyal Chicago City Firefigher stationed at Truck 16 his whole 30 plus years on the force.  Known by his fellow firefighters as “Ducky”.    It was a career that he truly loved.  On his days off from the Fire Department he was a union Bricklayer and built many homes and apartments around the Chicago area.  His work ethic was unmatched as he provided a great life to his family and loved ones.  Retiring in Glenn, Michigan he got to spend another 35 years in a beautiful place that he loved.  Visitation this Thursday at Beverly Ridge Funeral Home, 10415 S. Kedzie Ave.  Chicago, 10:00 am until time of service 12:00 noon. Interment Mt. Greenwood Cemetery. 773-779-4411
