Danette Krogh, nee Mallak, age 67, died peacefully from cancer on Monday, May 5th at Palos Northwestern Hospital surrounded by family. Daughter of the late Joseph and Diane Mallak, nee Shereback. Loving wife of Jonathan Krogh. Dear sister of Jeffery and Darcy (Rick) Randazzo. Devoted mother of Cassandra Wade, Deanna (Andy) Buis and Ashley (Frank) Maslanka. After pursuing her first career as a psychologist Danette, “Dani” found her greatest professional joy in working with senior caregivers having served as President of the Illinois Association of Community Care Program Homecare Providers for some nine years. She was a gifted artist and creative cake decorator, Dani loved planning gatherings and making her home a welcoming space for family and friends and sharing joy and treats with their dogs. She loved receiving pictures and news from the Maslanka grandchildren, Haley, Logan, Agnieszka and Ariella in Florida, and the Beneville-Krogh grandchildren Lousia and Julian in Boston. At Danette’s request there will be no funeral or memorial services; she asked instead that she be remembered by loved ones through their showing kindness to one another and the world around them. Memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of La Grange, 150 South Ashland, La Grange, IL 60525. 773-779-4411
